The successful candidate will be employed under a regular employment contract.
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term for an initial period of one year.
Continued employment for up to six years is possible.
The fixed-term employment is possible as it constitutes one of the fixed-term options of the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (German Act on Fixed-term Scientific Contracts).
This is a full-time position.
The successful candidate has the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree in this position.
The salary is based on the German public service salary scale (TV-L).
The position corresponds to a pay grade of EG 13 TV-L.

Ihre Aufgaben

- Project processing Testing the environmental compatibility of newly developed building materials

- Further development of existing concepts of environmental compatibility

- Supervision of laboratory and field tests

- Support in the field of teaching

Ihr Profil

- University degree (Master's or comparable) completed with good results from one of the following fields: Environmental Engineering; Chemistry; Mineralogy/Geosciences; Material Science or even Civil Engineering with a special interest in Chemistry.

- Fluent in written and spoken German and English

- Target- and team-oriented working style as well as excellent communication skills

The Institute of Building Materials Research at RWTH Aachen University is a nationally and internationally recognized platform for interdisciplinary, holistic, and practice-oriented research and development in the field of materials in construction. "Sustainable Materials for a digital future", this claim characterizes the objective of the teaching and research field of construction materials. In it, the working group Circular Economy and Innovative Binders and Technology conducts research on the optimization of binders and additives for concrete. Another focus is on the chemical-mineralogical aspects of the durability of cement-bound building materials.
