The Institute for Hearing Technology and Acoustics at RWTH Aachen University focuses on the physical and technical aspects of sound as well as the human perception and processing of sound.
The goal of the Institute for Hearing Technology and Acoustics is to expand interdisciplinary research in the field of sound perception and processing in complex acoustic environments. In addition to other research areas, the Institute is active in the fields of sound generation, propagation and attenuation. In this context, measurement methods and simulation techniques are developed to investigate the physics of complex acoustic scenarios using acoustic virtual reality.
We offer the opportunity to work in a dynamic, highly interdisciplinary team, extensive technical equipment and training in the state-of-the-art methods of hearing research and acoustics.
As part of the Collaborative Research Centre “Hearing Acoustics” (SFB 1330, HAPPAA) funded by the German Research Foundation, we are seeking a PhD student in the field of acoustics to investigate the perception of one’s own voice while using hearing aids and assistive listening devices in communication situations.
Please submit your application by March 10, 2024 in electronic format (pdf) with a detailed curriculum vitae (including information on research, teaching, and project management experience), certificates, and contact information for one or two references to the contact below.
