The Forschungsgesellschaft für Arbeitsphysiologie und Arbeitsschutz e.V. is an institutionally funded research organization supported by the German Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, and it is the sponsoring institution of the Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors at TU Dortmund (IfADo). IfADo investigates the risks and potentials of modern work using interdisciplinary approaches, combining the disciplines of ergonomics, immunology, toxicology, psychology, and neuroscience.
At the earliest possible date, the Department of Ergonomics is seeking to appoint a
Part-time Research Associate/PhD student (m, f, d) (75 %)
with the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree
The position is initially limited for three years
The successful candidate will conduct research within a project investigating the neurocognitive foundations of working memory, with a particular focus on the interaction between working memory and long-term memory. Most of the data will be collected in EEG experiments. An MRI scanner with functional imaging capabilities is also available on site.
Your qualification:
- A master´s degree or diploma in neuroscience, psychology or a comparable field
- Very good command of English; applicants who are not native English speakers should preferably provide a relevant language certificate (C 1)
- Very good methodological skills, demonstrated through previous academic work completed during the degree programme, particularly the Master’s thesis
- Experience in the acquisition and analysis of EEG data is also desirable
- A high level of independence, team spirit, scientific diligence, and enthusiasm for methodologically demanding research
Our offer:
- A part-time position with currently 29,87 working hours per week
- Remuneration according to TV-L E 13, EUR 3.569,53 to EUR 5.073,52 per month, depending on personal qualifications
