Diverse and sustainable crop production systems
to start from April 2026 and limited to 4 years in accordance with § 2 (1) WissZeitVG with a workload of 100%.
Within the context of the DFG Cluster of Excellence PhenoRob, we are offering a Postdoc position on the topic “Diverse and sustainable crop production systems”, focusing on experimentation, data analyses, and modelling of diverse and sustainable crop production systems.
The project:
The position is central in the core project on sustainable innovations in cropping systems of the Excellence Cluster PhenoRob. In this core project we aim to provide the theoretical foundations and empirical evidence necessary for attaining diversified systems that enhance productivity, environmental, and economic outcomes of agricultural systems. PhenoRob brings together excellent scientists from a wide range of backgrounds to jointly tackle this challenge and develop solutions for attaining these systems. The Postdoc plays a central role in coordinating and integrating experimental, data collection and modelling activities in this core project and thus offers great scientific opportunities.
Your profile:
We are looking for candidates who have a strong background in crop science, agroecology, field experimentation and data analysis of diversified productions systems. Documented experiences in conducting and coordinating field experiments are required. Additionally, previous experiences in research data management, handling and analyzing large data sets, and crop/bio-economic modelling are a plus. The successful candidate should have completed an excellent PhD and have a good publication track-record. A definitive plus are proven skills in the coordination of research projects, communication, and organization of teams.
