The successful candidate will be employed under a regular employment contract.
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term of 3 years.
The fixed-term employment is possible as it constitutes one of the fixed-term options of the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (German Act on Fixed-term Scientific Contracts).
This is a full-time position.
The successful candidate has the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree in this position.
The salary is based on the German public service salary scale (TV-L).
The position corresponds to a pay grade of EG 13 TV-L.

Ihr Profil

  • University degree (Master’s or equivalent) in computer science or a related field.
  • Experience in computer graphics, visualization and profound programming skills in C++.
  • Analytical skills for interpreting experimental data and contributing to scientific publications.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate within an interdisciplinary team environment.
  • High proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Please note the specific eligibility requirements under the MSCA rules:
    • At the date of recruitment, you must NOT have been awarded a doctoral degree.
    • You must comply with the MSCA mobility rule: you must not have resided or carried out your main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the recruiting organization for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before recruitment (short stays such as holidays are not taken into account).

Ihre Aufgaben

As part of the ‘Visualization’ group, you will support the project ‘UNVEIL: Unified Nondestructive Evaluation of Historical Artifacts‘ within the framework of a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network.

Over the course of the project, you will plan and develop a Digital Twin to assist conservators and restorers in the analysis of cultural heritage data, such as paintings, manuscripts, or historical objects.

You will contribute to the integration of measurement data from various sources of nondestructive evaluation, their spatial representation, and visual analysis. Through close collaboration with experts from diverse fields of measurement, analysis, and restoration, you will identify requirements, develop efficient and innovative visualization and interaction methods, and integrate these into an accessible application.

Within the project, you will gain broad expertise in the fields of visual analytics as well as general and immersive visualization.
