Unser Profil
We investigate how the brain supports successful social communication. We combine behavioral studies and EEG to analyze language, social cognition, interpersonal coordination, and the integration of multiple sensory signals. Our work sits at the intersection of social neuroscience, cognitive psychology, and social psychology. In the coming years, we will place a strong emphasis on bilingualism, examining its effects on the brain and social interaction and embedding this focus across our existing research lines.
The position is based in the Biological Psychology & Social Psychology group (Prof. Dr. Anna K. Kuhlen) at RWTH Aachen University. Our lab provides excellent facilities for collecting behavioral and EEG data, including a unique setup for multi-participant studies and EEG hyperscanning. We offer a friendly, supportive environment with extensive collaboration opportunities.

You hold a university degree (Master’s or equivalent), a PhD in a relevant field, and have a strong publication record in social or cognitive psychology or cognitive neuroscience. You bring solid skills in experimental design and data analysis, ideally including EEG and programming (Matlab, Python, R, or JavaScript). Your research interests focus on language, communication, social cognition, and social interaction, with openness to bilingualism and related topics.
As a reliable team player, you work proactively and independently. You communicate clearly in English, both written and spoken, and are motivated to support the development and coordination of our research team and lab operations.
You enjoy teaching and mentoring, and are prepared to teach two courses per semester as well as supervise Bachelor’s and Master’s theses.
Experience with grant writing and research management is a plus. German language skills are an advantage.
