The successful candidate will be employed under a regular employment contract.
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term of two years.
The fixed-term employment is possible as it constitutes one of the fixed-term options of the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (German Act on Fixed-term Scientific Contracts).
This is a full-time position.
The salary is based on the German public service salary scale (TV-L).
The position corresponds to a pay grade of EG 13 TV-L.
Unser Profil
The Chair of Mobile Communications and Compuitng (MCC) led by Prof. Petrova performs cutting-edge system-oriented research in the areas of mobile and wireless communications. The group focuses on advances in network architectures, machine learning, sensing, communication protocols, for future wireless networks. We tackle research problems in the area of 5G and 6G wireless system design, mm-wave and radar communication, ultra-reliable and low latency connectivity, novel spectrum access and sharing, automated and optimized resource management, and modular and reconfigurable protocol design for ultra-dense networks.
We are looking for two talented postdoctotal fellows in 6G Wireless Systems. The successfull candidates will contribute in natioanlly-funded colaborative 6G projects. Particularly the folowing areas are of intrest:
- Artificial Intelligence for Wireless Communications
- Non-terestrial networks (NTN)
- Semantic communication
- Wireless localization and tracking
- Spectrum management
Ihr Profil
Interested candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Masters`s degree or equivalent
- Holding or expected to obtain a PhD degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other related disciplines,
- Strong background in mobile sytsems, communication theory, wireless communication networks, and protocols (Wi-Fi/LTE/5G).
- Strong publication record.
- Abitilty to teach is a plus.
- Very good programming and scripting skills (e.g., C/C++, Python, Matlab).
- Hands-on experience with wireless network simulators, e.g. ns-3.
- Hands-on experience with programing SDR platforms is a plus.
- Quick comprehension and excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to pursue independent research as well as colaborate in a team.
- Excellent written and communication skills in English.

- You will work on cutting-edge research related to future wireless systems.
- You will take over the scientific coordination in parts of a research project.
- You will help in our teaching activities (e.g. Tutorials, Exercises, Labs and helping B.Sc and M.Sc. studnets with their thesis projects)
- You will contribute to writing scientific publications in high-impact journals and present research results to high-profile international and national conferences.
