About the Position
An academic staff position is available at the department of Physical Chemistry at RWTH Aachen University under the supervision of Dr. Max Hohenschutz and Prof. Walter Richtering. The project involves the study of nano-ions in non-ionic polymer solutions.

Ihre Aufgaben
You will join a dynamic collaborative research program exploring the properties of complex fluids at the crossroads of soft matter and supramolecular chemistry. The project aims to elucidate non-additive effects of salts and co-solvents on nano-ion/polymer solutions in regard to binding thermodynamics, solution structure and rheology. Synthetic polymers as well as biopolymers with different topology (linear, branched) will be used.
Responsibilities include investigating structures in solution using various techniques such as static and dynamic light scattering, small-angle X-ray and neutron scattering (SAXS, SANS), spectroscopy, rheology, and calorimetry.
You should also be capable of writing publications, presenting data at international conferences and to prepare proposals for beam time at large-scale facilities.
The position includes some teaching responsibilities in Physical Chemistry for both Bachelor's and Master's programs at RWTH Aachen University.
