The CFR Junior Professorship for Investments has a vacancy for a research assistant (f/m/x) with the desire to pursue a doctoral degree in Finance. The position is initially limited for two years but with the intention of a two-year extension.


YOUR TASKS
» Research, including participation in and independent advancement of empirical research projects in the areas of asset pricing, monetary policy, and market microstructure.
» Teaching, including independent teaching of seminars for the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences.
» The opportunity for academic qualification (doctorate) in the above mentioned finance areas is given and expected.



YOUR PROFILE
» Master’s degree in finance, economics, or business administration (or comparable programmes) (with distinction).
» Interest in and potentially experience with current finance research (e.g., asset pricing, international finance etc.).
» Willingness to design and deliver seminars, tutorials and supervise theses.
» Strong interest in empirical research; knowledge of quantitative empirical methods and data analysis (e.g., Matlab) is highly desirable. Knowledge of text recognition programmes would be a plus.
» Knowledge of common finance databases (e.g., WRDS Morningstar) would be a plus.
» Very good written and spoken English skills.

The position is available from 1 April 2025 on a part-time basis (29,87 hours per week). The position is to be filled for a fixed term until 30 April 2027 with the intention of a two-year extension. If the applicant meets the relevant wage requirements and personal qualifications, the salary will be based on remuneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the German public sector.
